Creating vision

Finding a vision is a matter of looking beyond the daily routine to the bigger picture, the larger good.

Most work makes a difference, or it wouldn't be done for long.

Ask yourself, beyond providing [a] product or service, what is the real end result of your work?

Staying positive

In his book "Success in the Business Jungle," Richard Hoffman offered these words of strength to managers and supervisors:

"Everything will happen exactly according to plan, but little will work out as planned.

"Being a [manager] means being in the middle of some kind of a problem most of the time – and not letting it show."
