Nanos, Caldera, sign partnership agreement

Laboratory Director G. Peter Nanos, right, and University of New Mexico President Louis Caldera, left, sign a memorandum of understanding and intellectual property agreement at a ceremony last Thursday in Scholes Hall on the UNM campus in Albuquerque. The memorandum of understanding strengthens interactions between the Lab and UNM in order to provide opportunities for research, education, recruitment and retention and to enhance research collaborations in areas mutually beneficial to the two institutions. At center in photo is Bruce Darling, University of California senior vice president for university affairs and acting vice president for Laboratory management. Standing is Terry Yates, UNM vice provost for research.

Nanos said the agreement with UNM is important because it ties in Los Alamos' national security strengths with the university's academic strengths. Photos by LeRoy N. Sanchez, Public Affairs
