Not just another carPaul Martinez, left, and Eduardo Vigil, both of of Network Engineering (CCN-5), look at the engine of a Honda Civic hybrid vehicle, which is powered using gasoline-electric technology. The vehicle was on display at an energy and conservation fair last week at the Otowi Building at Technical Area 3. The hybrid-engine vehicle can travel 650 miles on one tank of gas, according to the manufacturer. Its battery charges while the car is running on gasoline. The fair also included vendors demonstrating water and energy efficient office equipment and home appliances. Lab workers also could pick up information on conserving water and energy at home and in the workplace. Pollution Prevention (RRES-PP) and Utilities and Infrastructure (FWO-UI) sponsored the event.
