Thursday, September 18, 2003 Required hazard control plan reviewThis notice supercedes notice 0127, issued on Sept. 8. Feedback received after notice 0127 was issued indicates that appropriate management tools don't exist to efficiently execute the requirement to assure training required by hazard control plans (HCPs) has been accomplished and is current. The Senior Executive Team was made aware of this issue and agreed to rescind notice 0127. The Performance Surety (PS) Division will address the implementation of mechanisms for developing training plans for hazard control plans. Hazard control plans are a central element in the implementation of Integrated Safety Management and establish the controls required to ensure the work is accomplished within predetermined level of risk. Investigations of several recent incidents, however, indicate that some employees haven't been working to current and approved HCPs. In some cases the degree of worker training to HCPs also has been questioned. To read the notice, click here.
