"Moment in Time" airs in September on Los Alamos PAC 8 Television

"The Moment in Time: The Manhattan Project," will be shown Sept. 12 and 13 on Los Alamos' Community television station, PAC 8.

The show airs on PAC 8 as part of a collaboration with University of California Television. "Moment in Time" airs at 11 p.m., Sept. 12. It will be shown again at noon the following day.

The one-hour program documents the uncertain days of the beginning of World War II when it was feared the Nazis were developing the atomic bomb. The history of the bomb's development is traced through recollections of those who worked on what was known as "the gadget."

University of California television features programs from its campuses and national laboratories, including interviews, lectures, documentaries and specials covering subjects such as health and medicine, science, public affairs and the arts.

PAC 8 features University of California Television programs every weekend, beginning at 9 p.m. Friday through 5 p.m. Saturday. PAC 8 picks up UCTV programming again at 9 p.m. Saturday continuing through 7 a.m. Sunday.

Residents must have basic cable television service with Comcast Cable to view Los Alamos PAC 8.

Laboratory personnel also can watch University of California Television programs in Laboratory offices during the workweek through satellite television and on desktop computers at www.uctv.tv online.
