Wadsworth is new director of Oak Ridge lab

Jeff Wadsworth is the new director of Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee. Wadsworth succeeds William J. Madia, who served as ORNL director the past four years. Wadsworth began his duties on Aug. 1.

Wadsworth has been deputy director for science and technology and associate director for chemistry and materials science at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He later joined University of Tennessee-Battelle as a senior executive, where he focused on the Department Of Energy’s science programs, technology transfer and homeland security. Wadsworth has bachelor’s and doctorate degrees in metallurgy.
