Small business workshop Wednesday in Española

Laboratory partnering with KSL, Española city government

The Laboratory's Small Business Program (BUS-SBO) Office, KSL Services Joint Venture and the city of Española are hosting a workshop Wednesday designed to assist Northern New Mexico businesses interested in doing business with the Lab.

The workshop, "Procurement and Invoicing Procedures," is scheduled for 7 to 9:30 a.m. at the Española Senior Citizens Center on Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park Road. The workshops are part of an initiative to increase opportunities for local small businesses to pursue business with the Laboratory and other government entities, said Teresa Trujillo, SBO program leader. The new program began last month.

"Because Los Alamos employs a large number of local residents, either directly or through subcontracts with other businesses, I want to make sure local small businesses have the best possible opportunity to work with Los Alamos and create even more jobs," said Española Mayor Richard Lucero. "The Laboratory has been here for 50 years and will be here for another 50 years."

For more information about the workshops, go to http://sbo.lanl.gov online and click on calendar of events.
