Laboratory Foundation hosts grant-writing workshop in February

The nonprofit Laboratory Foundation is hosting a grant-writing workshop for organizations interested in learning the ins and outs of writing grants.

The workshop is Feb. 7 at Northern New Mexico Community College's El Rito campus. There is no cost to attend the workshop, but it is limited to the first 100 people and/or organizations registering through the foundation's Santa Fe office.

According to Nicolla Covey, a program officer for the foundation, the workshop will focus on effective grant-seeking strategies, the foundation's grant development process, grant research, creating workable budgets, storyboarding and tips on how to write a winning grant.

The foundation is now accepting grant proposals for community and educational outreach grants from nonprofit educational institutions, 501 ( c ) (3) organizations, government agencies and pueblos serving Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe and Taos counties.

To sign up for the grant-writing workshop, contact Patsy Chavez at 992-0685, extension 10, or go to the foundation's Web page at www.lanlfoundation.org online.

The Laboratory Foundation is the not-for-profit philanthropic grant-giving entity for the Lab, supporting a range of national and community not-for-profit organizations.
