ChemLog is Lab's new Chemical Information SystemChemLog, short for Chemical Catalog, is the name for the Lab's new chemical information system. More than 60 entries were submitted during the contest, which was narrowed down by a review committee to a final list of six names. ChemLog, submitted by Jack Purson of Classification (S-7), was then selected by the Lab's chemical users as the name-of-choice. Purson will receive a $50 gift certificate for submitting the winning entry. The new Chemical Catalog provides improved Labwide management of chemical information and container inventories. ChemLog was phased-in last summer and implemented in August. Additional new reporting and functionality will be added over the next few months. The new system replaced the former Automated Chemical Inventory System (ACIS). For any questions about ChemLog, contact Bill Hargraves of Industrial Hygiene and Safety (HSR-5) at 7-7807 or write to billh@lanl.gov by electronic mail. Or see the June 26 Daily Newsbulletin.
