Friday, November 8, 2002 ![]() Officials tour new Emergency Operations CenterLaboratory officials and invited guests on Thursday toured the Laboratory's
new Emergency Operations Center under construction at Technical Area 69. In
this photo, visitors stand in what will be the secondary area of the new facility.
The area to the right is what will be the primary area of the EOC. The Austin
Co. of Irvine, Calif. is the general contractor for the 38,000-square-foot facility,
which has space for 120 people. The facility includes office space for agencies
including the neighboring pueblos, FEMA, the National Guard, State Police, the
Red Cross, New Mexico Emergency Management, the Department of Energy and the
Lab.
