Lab to discuss recent environmental restoration activities

The Laboratory's Remediation Program (RRES-R) is hosting its fourth quarterly meeting for 2002, which is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Great Room of the senior center. Refreshments will be served.

The public can hear presentations about the cleanup of the wastewater lagoons at the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center, "non-traditional in-situ vitrification" --technology that can stabilize contamination in place -- and the ecological risk assessment approach to environmental restoration. Members of the public can ask questions or supply comments about the presented topics or about other environmental stewardship topics.
