Name that chemical . . . . management system that isThe Laboratory's new chemical management system needs a name. Industrial Hygiene and Safety (HSR-5) is sponsoring a contest to name the new system.A $50 prize will be awarded to the person who submits the winning entry. All Laboratory workers can participate by sending a suggested name to chemcontest@lanl.gov by electronic mail, said Rob Nicholas of HSR-5. This new chemical management system will provide improved Labwide management of chemicals at the Lab. The new system is scheduled to be implemented by Wednesday. Additional new reporting and functionality will be added over the next few months, Nicholas said. The new system replaces the current Automated Chemical Inventory System (ACIS). Nicholas said single or multiple entries will be accepted. Contest entries must be submitted by the end of the work day Friday, Sept. 6. The chemical management system project team will select the top five entries. The Laboratory's chemical users will then select the winner from the top five entries. If the same name is submitted more than once, credit will be given to the first entry received. For more information or questions, contact Nicholas at 7-3748 or write to robnicholas@lanl.gov by electronic mail. Additional information on the chemical inventory and management system also can be found in the June 26 Daily Newsbulletin. -- Steve Sandoval Other Headlines Brookhaven official Lynch speaks at Lab today more...
