Deadline extended to Friday for nominations to new Diversity/Affirmative Action BoardUniversity of California Laboratory employees have until Friday to submit a nomination to serve on the Lab's new Diversity/Affirmative Action Board. The new board, a joint venture of the Diversity Office (DVO) and the Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO), will help the Laboratory more effectively address multicultural institutional decisions, reduce or eliminate duplication of effort and help the Laboratory "walk the talk" when it comes to diversity, according to Lisa Gutierrez, DVO director. The new Diversity/Affirmative Action Board replaces the existing Labwide Diversity Council. Diversity working groups that represent various gender and ethnic groups at the Lab remain in place. Nominations should be sent to Danny Valdez in DVO at Mail Stop M894 or by fax to 7-6404. For more information on the new Diversity/Affirmative Action Board, see the June 19 Daily Newsbulletin.
