Web page provides guidance to managers on hiring of foreign nationalsThe Laboratory Visitor and Immigration Services Office recently posted on its Web page a summary of information and guidance to aid managers in the hiring of foreign nationals. The page is found at http://www.hr.lanl.gov/hrstaffing/VisitorsandImmigration/update.stm online, and contains information on compensation regulations, employment eligibility and application processes.Throughout the year, and especially during the summer, the Laboratory hires several foreign national employees. To assist managers with the hiring process, the Laboratory Visitor and Immigration Services Office provides resources, information and assistance in the hiring of foreign nationals. They also work with federal and state government agencies, as well as U.S. consular posts, to obtain the necessary documentation and authorizations required for international employees and guests of the Laboratory. The Visitor and Immigration Services Office's website is a valuable resource for visa and immigration policies in the U.S., and includes guidelines specific to the Laboratory.
