Thursday, June 20, 2002 Lab director and deputy director for science and technology to talk with students in JulyLaboratory Director John Browne will discuss various issues with student employees at 8:30 a.m. on July 17 in the Physics Building Auditorium at Technical Area 3. The hour-long presentation will air live on Labnet Channel 9 and also will be broadcast on the Internet using streaming-video technology. "I encourage students to attend the meeting because this is an important opportunity to share concerns and successes with the director," Carole Rutten of the Education Programs Office (STB/EPO) said. In the past, Browne has answered questions from students about the status of foreign nationals, attrition and the Lab's budget. The Director's Office meets with students every summer. Bill Press, deputy director for Science and Technology, also will meet with students at 1 p.m. on July 9 in the Physics Building Auditorium. Press will discuss the importance of students at the Laboratory, and students can ask questions or express concerns to Press. The meeting will be broadcast on Labnet Channel 9 and can be accessed via the Internet using streaming-video technology.
