June Personal Best available onlineThe June edition of Personal Best, the health and wellness newsletter for Laboratory workers is now available online. June is National Safety Month. This month's cover story "Safety is no Accident" highlights four preventable factors: preoccupation, fatigue, alcohol use and risk taking. Additional safety topics are addressed in the new Safety Solutions column, including cycling safety, a summer safety quiz and defense against dehydration. Obtain more safety and security information from local agencies at the community Safety and Security Day event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 20, downtown in the parking lot outside of the Community Relations (CRO) Office and across Central Avenue from the Farmer's Market. Also included in the report are suggestions for lowering Alzheimer's Disease risk from the Institute for the Study of Aging.
"Cooking with Herbs" is the title of this month's nutrition column. Add flavor without fat when preparing the Recipe of the Month, "Tomato mushroom penne with herbs."
