Los Alamos News LetterThe newly reformatted Los Alamos News Letter is scheduled to be in newsstands and mailboxes today. Though a colorful issue, there are still some technical nuances that need to be resolved.Highlighted on the cover is a story about the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center at Technical Area 53. Inside, Laboratory Director John Browne discusses a recent Department of Energy Office of Independent Oversight and Performance Assurance review. Also in this issue is an article on the new University of California-Laboratory program designed to enhance students' experiences at the Laboratory and a summary of Science Day 2002. Profiles of the first winners of the Postdoctoral Distinguished Performance Prize; a farewell to Omega West; information on the new Emergency Operations Center, under construction at TA-69; and the director's message on safety all find a place in this issue. Employees can access Los Alamos News Letter on the Web at http://www.lanl.gov/worldview/news/lanl_archive.shtml online or obtain additional copies at the bright lue distribution boxes throughout the Lab. Organizations receiving too many or not enough, should call the mailroom at 7-4166. Other Headlines Lunch Buddies participants recognized by the Laboratory more...
