Reminder about one-time UCRP service credit allocation programUniversity of California Laboratory employees who worked in temporary (casual) positions at some time during their career at Los Alamos might be eligible to receive up to two years of additional retirement plan service credit. This allocation would increase the value of the employee's future retirement benefits. The UC Regents approved this one-time opportunity under a special program called the University of California Retirement Plan Service Credit Allocation Program to recognize the past contributions of UC employees who worked in temporary (casual) positions. Employees are eligible for a UCRP service credit allocation if they:
Last year, some UCRP members received an automatic service credit allocation for previous temporary service. Employees were identified based on the best available records, but it is possible that not everyone eligible received credit, said Marti Browne of Compensation and Benefits (HR-1). UC Laboratory employees who believe they qualify for a service credit allocation for their temporary employment but did not receive one, should go to http://www.ucop.edu/bencom/rs/ucrpservcredprog.html online for additional information and to get a copy of the "UCRP Service Credit Allocation Request" form. Employees need to provide the dates of their temporary appointment (s) and any Personal Action forms for that timeframe. The completed request form and attachments must be sent to UC postmarked no later than July 31 in order to be processed. For more information or assistance, contact Browne at 7-1158.
