Fun, informative activities part of Family Day Saturday at the Laboratory

A number of activities open to all Laboratory workers and their guests are scheduled for Family Day on Saturday (April 13).

Among the activities scheduled are guided tours of the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE) at Technical Area 53, demonstrations such as the physics of skateboarding, tours of Physics (P) Division facilities and the Lab's Research Library at TA-3, "the magic of chemistry" hosted by Nuclear Materials Technology (NMT) Division and a live fire demonstration at the firing range.

A list of activities open to all Laboratory workers and family members can be found on the Family Day Web page at http://www.lanl.gov/familyday/ online.

Aramark Corp. which operates the Laboratory's cafeterias, and Hot Rocks Café, will serve lunch and there will be informational booths throughout the Lab.

Occupational medicine (HSR-2) will be open on Saturday to respond to minor health and or medical needs.

Lab workers participating in Family Day are reminded that parking is available at the Los Alamos Research Park across West Jemez Road from TA-3. In addition, an information booth will be set up at TA-3 for employees and family members to obtain maps and a list of Family Day activities.

Lab workers not participating in Family Day are reminded to close office doors.

An all employee memo on Family Day has been issued.
