Fun, informative activities part of Family Day Saturday at the Laboratory

A number of activities open to all Laboratory workers and their guests are scheduled for Family Day on Saturday (April 13).

Among the activities scheduled are guided tours of the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE) at Technical Area 53, demonstrations such as the physics of skateboarding, tours of Physics (P) Division facilities and the Lab's Research Library at TA-3, "the magic of chemistry" hosted by Nuclear Materials Technology (NMT) Division and a live fire demonstration at the firing range.

A list of activities open to all Laboratory workers and family members can be found on the Family Day Web page at http://www.lanl.gov/familyday/ online.

"The event is a great opportunity to share with your families the important and exciting work we do here at Los Alamos National Laboratory," said Laboratory Director John Browne. "Never has the Laboratory's mission been so clear and important to our nation. Let us take pride in our work and share that pride with our families."

Aramark Corp. which operates the Laboratory's cafeterias, and Hot Rocks Café, will serve lunch and there will be informational booths throughout the Lab.

Nearly 1,300 Laboratory workers are signed up to participate in Family Day.

An all employee memo on Family Day has been issued.
