Deadline is Sunday to sign up for Laboratory Family Day
Laboratory workers have until this Sunday (March 31) to sign up for Family
Day.
Family Day is scheduled for April 13 and a number of educational, informational
and fun activities for all ages are planned, as well as guided tours of
the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center at Technical Area 53 and other events.
As of mid-day Monday, more than 1,000 Lab workers representing more than
2,600 people have registered for Family Day at the event's Web page.
Laboratory workers are encouraged to bring family members to Family Day
activities from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with access to secure areas from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m. Lab workers who want to escort family members into secure
work areas will need to register them in advance. The registration form
is available at http://www.lanl.gov/familyday
online.
The operators of the Los Alamos Research Park across East Jemez Road
from the Otowi Building will allow Lab workers to park in their parking
lot only on Family Day. And Lab workers are reminded that pets shouldn't
be brought to the Lab on that day.
Laboratory Director John Browne has issued an all
employee memo on Family Day and additional information will be posted
on the Family Day Web page as it become available.
