![]() Foreign Visits and Assignments office closed March 19-22The Labs Foreign Visits and Assignments Office will be closed March 19-22 while the staff participates in an Immigration and Naturalization Service training session. The INS training focuses on visa approval/disapproval and renewal process issues related to the United States' new security posture after the Sept. 11, 2001 incidents on the east coast. With this INS training on visa procedures we hope to be able to provide helpful insight into INS requirements for our foreign visitors and assignees, help them maintain the right status with INS and perhaps help them stay in the U.S. and working at the Lab, if appropriate, said Lori Hutchins of the Foreign Visits and Assignments team, part of the Labs Internal Security Office. During the office closure the Badge Office (S-6) will only issue badges to approved foreign nationals. New visit requests submitted between March 19-22 wont be processed until the Foreign Visits and Assignments office reopens March 25. Any questions, concerns or requests for new visits for the weeks of March 18 or March 25 should be complete and submitted to the team before March 15. For more information, contact ISEC at 5-5561. --Kevin N.
