Career fair set for Tuesday in the Otowi Building Undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral candidates can discuss employment opportunities with Laboratory hiring officials at a career fair from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday (Feb 26) in the Otowi Building side rooms at Technical Area 3. The event is sponsored by the Labs Student Association, Staffing (HR-5) and the Education Programs Office (STB-EPO). It is open to all students and postdocs who work for the Lab. With increased hiring demands for fiscal year 2002, there are a significant number of open positions for entry-level and postdoctoral candidates, Karen Burkett of HR-5 said. Students and postdocs attending the career fair are asked to bring at least 10 copies of their résumé or curriculum vitae for distribution purposes. Hiring entry level and diverse staff members is a strategic goal of the Laboratory, said Bill Press, deputy director for science and technology. Finding highly qualified applicants is essential to these efforts, and utilizing the pool of excellent students and post-docs is just one more aspect of supporting this goal.
