Editorial policy
The recent news story on the security problems at the Laboratory shows up the editorial policy of the Daily Newsbulletin. After a mention that Representative Markey has raised the issue, the bulk of the piece is devoted to rebuttal by General Gordon. No mention is made of where the Markey's concerns may be found; www.pogo.org is a good source. I suggest that we are left with not news but propaganda. No unpleasant news will be permitted. A sad end for the Daily Newsbulletin, which we should all protest.
Another problem with the editorial policy is that the Daily Newsbulletin will not print letters that they don't like. I and many others, have submitted letters, concerning Lab issues and practices, which have not been published. Letters commenting on, or correcting, Daily Newsbulletin articles are not published. This once useful forum has been reduced to commentary on traffic issues, and other such trivia that does not offend the editors or Lab management.
We should all protest to [Laboratory Director] John Browne.
