Diamond Drive
To further comment on the situation at the Diamond Drive/West Jemez Road, I would like to say that Bart J. Vanden Plas has the correct idea regarding the relocation of the merging before the intersection. Merging before the intersection is the most logical solution to the problem, and I also agree with Vanden Plas that some thought should be put into making the left-turn lane onto West Jemez Road longer to avoid the cars merging left becoming "stuck" behind those waiting to turn left. Terry Morgan's idea is to essentially "un-merge" before the light, just to "re-merge" after crossing the intersection. This is illogical in terms of traffic flow. It works on highways, but on highways one does not have to stop at a traffic light before merging. Additionally, merging traffic has to yield to traffic in the lane into which they must merge, not the other way around. People who take the right-hand lane and then cut back into the line of patient people are both rude and uninformed.
