Traffic on Diamond Drive

I'm glad Debbie Baca wrote in about where the traffic on Diamond Drive goes down to one lane. I too have been nearly rear ended several times. It always amazes me that people who would not think of butting in line at the grocery store think it is all right to do so in their vehicle. If everyone would wait their turn, I'm convinced, that traffic would not only move more smoothly, but there would be a lot less stress during the drive in to work. Let me ask those of you who drive to the front of the line, what makes your time more valuable than mine? Is risking injury to yourself and others or damage to the respective vehicles worth the seconds you might save in getting to work? Finally, I would also like to ask those who implemented the change, was safety really considered since there are so many people who think using their vehicle, as a battering ram is their god given right?
