Notes:
- CINT is a partnership between Sandia and Los Alamos in developing nanoscale science and technology.
- CINT is one of three Nanoscale Science Research Centers selected in a peer review process by DOE for funding. The other two centers are the Molecular Foundry at LBNL and the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences at ORNL.
- CINT will construct about $70M of new laboratory and office space in Albuquerque (83,000 ft2 CINT core facility) and in Los Alamos (CINT Gateway to Los Alamos, 31,000 ft2).
- CINT will operate as a ìcollaborativeî research center based on peer reviewed collaborative research proposals written by a CINT scientist and a collaborator. Collaborators will come from universities, labs, and industry. CINT will have a budget to support students, postdocs, and faculty visits.
- CINT seeks partnerships with other nanoscience centers and has had discussions with the UCSB/UCLA California Nanosystems Institute
