Topological Phases and Topological Entropy of Systems with Finite Correlation Length

Abstract

Recently, it has been conjectured that the entanglement entropy of topological liquids has universal features, dependent only on the type of the existing topological order. In this talk, I will elucidate the causes behind the existence of these universal features by considering several examples of topological quantum liquids with non-zero correlation length.
