Quantum Institute: Visitor ScheduleThe Quantum Lunch is regularly held on Thursdays in the Theoretical Division Conference Room, TA-3, Building 123, Room 121. For more information, contact Diego Dalvit. December 6, 2007 Lukasz Zawitkowski, On Magnetic Properties of Ultra-Cold Atomic Spinor Gases in Optical Lattice AbstractUltra-cold atomic spinor gases in optical lattices create a new perspective in the study of magnetic systems as it opens the possibility to engineer magnetic states with precision unknown in solid state physics. I will discuss theoretical predictions for low temperature quantum phases for F=2 spinor gases in the Mott-insulating regime with one and two atoms per site and the possibilities of manipulating their magnetic properties using Feshbach resonances. |
