P/T Colloquium: Radiation Matter Interactions for Energy Conversion Materials Discovery: The MaRIE-M4 Facility

M4 stands for making, modeling and measuring of materials. I will discuss how M4 as part of MaRIE enables the control science required for the acceleration of advanced materials discovery. M4 is an integrated facility that brings together theory, synthesis and characterization to solve problems that require integrated solid state solutions. I will discuss some of the major science areas that M4 will address and the fundamental capabilities that are required. Particular emphasis will be placed on the interactions with the FFMF and MPDH in understanding materials in extremes.
