Mary Beth has 17 years of conflict-resolution and crisis-intervention experience at the Laboratory as well as an educational background in psychology. She joined the Lab in 1989 in the Security Division's Special Projects Office and conducted inquiries into theft, vandalism, threats, and other incidents of security concern. In 1993, Mary Beth joined the Lab's volunteer-staffed Crisis Negotiations Team and served as its team leader from 1995–2001. In 1997, she moved to Employee Relations, where she investigated allegations of misconduct and facilitated the employee complaint and discipline processes.
Since 1999, Mary Beth has been a Senior Associate Ombudsman and the project leader for the Mediation Program, coordinating the conflict resolution efforts of a Lab-wide pool of mediators. She is also actively involved with the Lab's Critical Incident Stress Management team and in volunteer crisis response in the Los Alamos community. In 2004, Mary Beth became an executive coach for the Director's Development Program.
