People at the Electron Microscopy Laboratory
Rob Dickerson (dickerson@lanl.gov)
is a Technical Staff Member in MST-8. Rob has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
(1982) and M.S. (1987) and
Ph.D. (1989) degrees in Materials Science and Engineering, all from Case
Western Reserve University. He spent 20 months as a post-doctoral guest
scientist at the Forschungszentrum, Juelich, Germany developing techniques
for in-situ crack growth observation
at high temperatures. Before coming to LANL in 1997, he spent six years
under contract at the NASA Lewis Research Center performing metallography
as well as scanning and transmission electron microscopy on a large variety
of metals, ceramics, and composites. Rob's major interests include electron
microscopy, structure-property relationships, phase transformations, and
grain boundary phenomena. He is author or co-author on approximately 50
publications.
Jim Smith (jfsmith@lanl.gov) is a Technician in MST-8.
