Visiting LANL
When planning and scheduling a visit with our researchers, please keep in mind that we have very strict requirements and long lead times are necessary.
Foreign Nationals:
If all necessary information is not received 20 days prior to your requested visit date for a non-sensitive country or 60 days for a sensitive country, you may be required to move your date of arrival/visit. Our laboratory has strict deadlines for foreign visitors and your visit will be denied if these requirements are not met.
If you are a citizen of, born in, or your employer, university, or institutional affiliation is in a sensitive country, it will take 60 days for processing. Sensitive countries are: Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China (Hong Kong), Cuba*, Georgia, India, Iran*, Iraq, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Libya*, Moldova, North Korea*, Pakistan, Russia, Rwanda, Sudan*, Syria*, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan
We would prefer that you DO NOT bring a laptop computer on site. If you plan to bring one, we must complete additional paperwork - without this, your computer could be permanently confiscated. Any wireless capabilities must be turned off when entering the site and you must notify your host if you are carrying a cell phone. Video cell phones are prohibited.
* Additional time and justifications are required for visitors from these countries.
