Kudos
Physicists and chemists applying the muon spin rotation, relaxation and resonance technique recently founded the Society for Muon Spin Rotation and elected Bob Heffner to serve as the first president. At present most of the muon spin rotation experiments are carried out at the internationally accessible muon sources of the TRIUMF Laboratory in Canada, the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland, the ISIS facility at the Rutherford- Appleton Laboratory in the UK, and the KEK laboratory in Japan.

Roman Movshovich was awarded a 2002 Fellows Prize for Outstanding Research in Science or Engineering. Roman was recognized for his outstanding research in experimental low temperature condensed matter physics and, in particular, for his research on unconventional superconductivity and correlated-electron physics.

Toni Taylor is a Director-at-Large of the Optical Society of America. The OSA has a membership of 13,000 optical scientists and strives to be the world's leading society for optics and photonics. Toni was named a Fellow of OSA in 2001.
