Team description:

We conduct nuclear coolant and materials research and technology development in support of DOE/NE's nuclear energy programs, including Advanced Fuel Cycle Initiative (AFCI)/Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP), Generation IV Nuclear Energy Systems (Gen IV), and Nuclear Hydrogen Initiative (NHI). We designed, constructed and are now operating a medium scale forced circulation lead-bismuth eutectic loop (DELTA) for materials and thermal hydraulic testing, conduct advanced alloy development, testing and characterization, and perform modeling and model-based analysis of corrosion kinetics. We lead, participate in or support a number of university and international collaborations.
