International Research and Analysis, IAT-1

IAT-1 has one of the most diverse work forces in the division. By applying its scientific and engineering skills to designated problems, IAT-1 seeks to deter the proliferation of weapons-usable nuclear materials and the means to produce and use these materials. IAT-1 provides analyses of critical technologies and capabilities related to weapons of mass destruction and has developed computerized information systems for use within the U.S. government that allow rapid dissemination of accurate information needed for export control and policy decisions. The group supports a variety of federal entities in the areas of policy advice, treaty verification, and threat assessment.
