Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Individuals

American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting

The OEOD provides a broad range of services to accommodate individual who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. Chief among these is ASL interpreting services. We encourage Laboratory organizations to consider the need for ASL interpreting and related services when planning Laboratory events.

In addition, we offer services for small and individual meetings when a deaf or hard-of-hearing individual will be in attendance. For instance, we can provide an interpreter for a prospective deaf or hard-of-hearing employee during his or her job interview.

American Sign Language Classes

We also offer ASL classes every summer, which are available to all members of the Laboratory workforce.
