Complaint Resolution Program (P791) (pdf) is the laboratory's internal grievance process that is available to LANS employees who wish to grieve a management action that violates a specific LANL policy, procedure or instruction that has a demonstrable impact on the employees terms and conditions of employment, or that the employee has been disciplined in violation of LANL policy or procedures. The process includes an initial response from the manager against whom the grievance is filed, followed by an investigation conducted by Employee Relations, if necessary, with a review thereof and decision by line management. Some issues can also be pursued to either internal or external mediation, if all parties agree, and arbitration.
The policy contains both time and scope limitations which require the filing of the grievance within 30 calendar days from the date on the which the employee knew or reasonably should have known of the alleged employment action that gave rise to the complaint. The process is initiated by filing Form 1900 (pdf) with the CRP office in a timely manner.
