LANL Training Facility TA 49
LANL's Technical Area 49 (TA-49) is located on the southern boundary of the Laboratory. The entrance to TA-49 is located on the north side of State Route 4. Approaching from the west, it is 2.6 miles east of the intersection between State Route 4 and State Route 501. Approaching from the east, it is 3.3 miles west of the entrance to Bandelier National Monument. TA-49 is located in a "controlled area" of the Laboratory. A telephone pedestal is located outside the access gate. The Hazardous Materials Training Facility telephone number is (505) 665-9989. If no answer, the ER-RS Group Office number is (505) 665-5237. 
Once inside the gate, proceed on the paved road until it ends at a 4-way intersection. Turn right on the dirt/gravel road (at the sign for the Hazardous Materials Training Facility). Some parking is available in the paved area in front of Building 113. For larger events, specific parking areas will be designated and posted. 
The Hazardous Materials Training Facility consists of the classroom, kitchenette, lavatory, and office areas in TA-49 Building 113 as well as the outdoor performance-based training area and props/stations located to the east and south of the building.  |
