I earned a MEng degree at the University of Mining and Geology, Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1989, and a PhD degree at the University of Arizona, Tucson in 2000.

I worked as a Tenured Assistant Professor at the Department of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology, University of Mining and Geology, Sofia, Bulgaria.

Presently, I am a technical staff member at the Computation Earth Science Group, Earth and Environmental Sciences Division, Los Alamos National Laboratory, New Mexico, USA.

My research interests include:

• modeling of flow and transport in variably saturated media,
• stochastic inverse methods for characterization of medium heterogeneity (tomography),
• scale effects, Levy stable distributions, fractal and multi-fractal techniques,
• high-performance computing,
• risk assessment and decision support.
