Jeff Simpson

Technical Writer

Working with the NIS-TEP/TRAC program in the summer of 1996, Jeff began these web pages for the former EES-e group and searched and retrieved seismic data. Now he serves as a technical writer for EES-17, making our information available via the internet.

During the academic year, Jeff teaches geology at Paradise Valley Community College and high school digital photography, physics, and earth science in the Paradise Valley School District of Arizona.

Jeff enjoys mountain biking, acoustic guitar, gardening, astronomy, writing, computing, and studying environmental issues focusing on sustainability and alternative architecture (photovoltaics, passive design, etc.), and foreign travel. He has taught in Athens, Greece and Pago Pago, American Samoa. He has worked with the National Park Service at Kilauea and Glen Canyon.

His next goal is to build an energy efficient house and raise a decent garden.
