At the Balapan test, site the team selected specific boreholes for our experiment. EES-11's former technician, Roy Boyd marked the sites while NNC technicians fabricated containers and filled them with explosive. These eventually will be lowered down the selected borehole...to a depth of either 50, 300, or 500 meters. (Images 1-3)

While a single detonation cord lowered to the explosive charge (often below the water table) is usually enough to initiate a blast, the NNC's technicians took no chances; they wrapped 4 cords together and sealed them into a watertight swab. (Images 4-5)
