MILITARY OPERATIONS

Among the military’s primary interests in fuel cells is the potential for portable power sources that can replace diesel generators. Current diesel generators must be transported by vehicle, limiting their applicability in certain military operations. Fuel cell-based generators are being developed that will allow soldiers to carry their power sources without the help of machinery.
