The need for efficient, non-polluting power sources for transportation, portable electronics, and large-scale generation has led Los Alamos National Laboratory to develop an intensive program in alternative power sources. Our objectives are to develop original fuel cell designs and to explore alternative fuels for use in these cells.

We have over twenty years of experience in fuel cell research and an international reputation as an innovator of fuel cell technology. Research groups from around the Laboratory continue to investigate new fuel cell technologies and improve existing designs.
