About D-4

D-4 is made up of researchers with backgrounds in such diverse areas as physics, mechanical engineering, computer science, economics, nuclear engineering, atmospheric sciences, chemistry, electrical engineering, geographical information systems, and environmental sciences. D-4 researchers are in the business of solving real-world problems and have worked in such diverse areas as air quality, economic and financial analysis, energy systems, environmental technologies for remediation, and transportation.


Our Mission is to provide independent and unbiased scientific, engineering, and economic assessments to energy and environmental decision makers in the U.S. and the world.

Our Vision is to be the recognized leader within the Department of Energy (DOE) in energy and environmental modeling and analysis.
