LANL Awards $100 Million Contract to Small Business

Funding obtained under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to clear out a World War II-era landfill on Lab property has resulted in a $100 million contract awarded to TerranearPMC, LLC. Read more

National Lab Day Coming in May
A consortium of more than 200 representatives of education, science and engineering, philanthropic, and other organizations are part of a new, grassroots effort to reinvigorate math and science education across the country for students in kindergarten through the twelfth grade. Read more

Talk on Sun Starts in April

Mark your calendars now so you don’t miss the latest Frontiers in Science talk on “A Journey to the Center of the Sun.” Joyce Ann Guzik, with the Lab’s Navy Systems Group, will talk about the tools used to look inside the volatile sphere that is constantly shaken by “sunquakes” and high-energy X-rays coming from a hot dense core where the equivalent of 100 billion hydrogen bombs explode every second.
