The Government Affairs Office (CGA-GAO) has the following responsibilities:

Guides and supports the Laboratory leadership in providing to all levels of government a coherent view of Lab activities, plans, and capabilities
Provides information about and analysis of governmental and public activities and priorities
Provides, through the Protocol Office, effective development and management of strategic Lab visits, meetings, conferences, and special events
Addresses, through the Tribal Relations Team, regional Tribal education, economic impact, environment, and quality of life issues
Provides liaison through the State and Local Government Team to city, county, and state governments, represents LANL to these political entities; and served as Laboratory management's "window" into state and local government actions and how they may affect LANL.
