Mission and Objectives

In support of the Laboratory as a whole, the Chief Information Officer works to create an institutionally orchestrated information and technology environment by:


  • simplifying complex business systems and practices
  • reducing hidden costs in doing business
  • increasing the productivity of administrative, operational, technical and managerial staff
  • integrating cyber security into the information management chain
  • coordinating the Institutional Web sites (both the open public and the protected workforce) as the owner of note
  • formalizing the Laboratory's Information Architecture
  • developing Information Technology strategic plans
  • aligning the Laboratory's information practices with DOE/NNSA directions
