LANS receives additional contract year, 89 percent of available fee
January 4, 2012—In its annual performance evaluation report, Los Alamos National Security, LLC received 89 percent of the available performance-based fee from the National Nuclear Security Administration for managing and operating LANL in fiscal year 2011. NNSA also awarded LANS an additional contract year, extending the current agreement through September 30, 2017.
"The award is a tribute to our employees' dedication to delivering on our commitments," said Lab Director Charlie McMillan. "2011 was an outstanding year for science and mission execution at the Laboratory."
"NNSA said we're paying attention to customer feedback, communicating with them more effectively, and addressing issues quickly," said Lab Deputy Director Beth Sellers. "The response to the Las Conchas Fire was especially noted. For fiscal year 2012, we have a more simplified set of goals which include a continued emphasis on Formality of Operations."
The fiscal year 2010 score was 88 percent. LANS has been the managing and operating contractor at Los Alamos since 2006.
