Laboratory publication wins graphic design award of excellence
Currents magazine recognized by Graphic Design USA
Apr. 23, 2010—Currents, the Lab's former monthly employee magazine, recently received a national design award of excellence from Graphic Design USA for the January 2010 issue. Currents featured a mix of stories about Laboratory employees, technologies, and significant scientific accomplishments. Allen Hopkins of Communication, Arts, and Services was the graphic designer for the publication produced by the Communications Office.
Graphic Design USA's American Inhouse Design Awards is the original and premier showcase for outstanding work by inhouse designers. It is a unique opportunity for inhouse design, marketing and communications departments—within corporations, nonprofits, publishers and media companies, associations, government, education, and other institutions — to be recognized for their talent, for the special challenges they face, and for their contributions to their businesses and institutions.
Currents ceased production with the January issue, which featured a cover story on the 2010 Laboratory Fellows. A new quarterly employee publication is scheduled to launch in late spring or early summer. Watch for more information.
